Valley Bakery is a full line bakery offering scratch made bread, buns and pastries. We love to fill special orders and try our best to accommodate special requests. We offer our products at our bakery at 251 Main St. in Winkler as well as at a number of stores in Winnipeg and around Southern Manitoba.
Breads
We offer a wide variety of breads including regular white and brown sliced breads, rye, multigrain, harvest, seed bread, raisin and garlic bread, and seasonally pumpernickel. Unsliced bread is available by request.
We also offer 4 types of sourdough bread–white, rye, harvest and cheese and onion. All sourdoughs are made over a four-day process that uses a six-year-old starter made in our very own kitchen. We never add sugar or shortening to our sourdough breads. They contain only flour, water, and salt and occasionally a bit of yeast when the cold of the Manitoba winter sets in.
Buns
We offer white, brown, flax, rye, and multigrain breads and buns as well as hamburger, hotdog, buns, cheese, and onion buns. Slicing is available by request.
Pastries
We fill our showcase with fresh donuts daily. Chocolate, glazed, apple fritters, and about another 10 varieties make up the daily offering. We make donuts fresh in the morning so once they are gone they are gone for the day. We accept orders up to the day before and for as small an order as 6—although we have even been known to just set one aside for someone who knows they won’t be able to make it in first thing in the morning but does not want to risk their favourite having been sold out!
We offer a full line of pastries including cinnamon buns, danish, strudel, and many varieties of cookies, squares, and muffins.
Cakes
We make cakes to order. White, chocolate, marble, and carrot in three sizes. Check out our Cake Album!
